New menu bar and global contact search
We have released a new menu bar and global search experience. You can now search by client and contact and view summary details on cards, inline in the results. Many times, these cards will contain the information you were looking for and save needing to load the entire client record.
For example, if you just want a contact’s phone number, to send an email, confirm a client’s ARR, or see which CSM is assigned, it’s right there.
The client card looks like this:
…and contains:
- Client name
- ARR
- MRR
- TSV
- Client type
- Assigned CSM
- Sales rep
- Address
- Time zone
The contact card looks like this:
…and contains:
- Name
- Title
- Company
- Badges
- Email (including a link to compose a new message)
- Office phone
- Mobile phone
- Address
- Time zone
In addition to searching by client or contact name, you can also search by street address, email address, and phone number. Double-click a result to load the client record.
I also have a gift to all you power users: The search dialogue can be evoked by typing the forward slash key (“/”) on your keyboard. You can then arrow up/down to load the card and then strike the Return key to load the client record. Strike the Escape key to cancel a search. This allows you to cycle through clients or engage in a data lookup session without ever reaching for the mouse or trackpad.
A few odds and ends:
- The avatar (or initials) is now always your own (instead of the currently selected user or team) and is the button for the main menu.
- The user/roles menu and the search link have swapped places.
- The button (“+”) for adding new clients has been replaced with “Add client” in the main menu.
